To ALL Bridgeware Clients:

As we all get ready to close out 2011 and begin 2012 there are changes that must occur within your software.

As you may or may not already know, the SSA Magnetic Media Reporting has changed this year.  You can download the latest program at your convenience on our FTP Site, or contact Bridgeware Technical Support for help on this.

To obtain the latest Accuwage software which has also changed, you can follow the download and installation instructions here…  http://www.socialsecurity.gov/employer/accuwage/installation.html

As always, the Federal Math Packets can be downloaded from the FTP Site as well. The file is called Fed2012.tpm and can be downloaded at any time. Do NOT install them until after you clear your YTD Check Totals for 2011 and before you process your first payroll for 2012.  If you need further help installing them to your database, please contact Bridgeware Technical Support.

If anyone has been notified of any changes to your States Tax Packages please forward them to support@bridgeware.net so we can get them updated for you.

*** Reminder ***  There will be no Earned Income Credit for 2012. You will want to go into company setup and disable your deduction flags on the Automatic setting from “Y” to “N”. This will ensure that any employees who have EIC deductions on their employee record will no longer be getting EIC in their paycheck.

Make sure you review/download copies of the “Year End Checklist” so you don’t miss anything here http://www.bridgeware.net/taxes-w2s.html. There are also instructions on running your W2’s and SSA’s.

Don’t lose out on Credits you may be eligible for!

Employees that began work between February 3, 2010 and January 1, 2011 may be eligible for the Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment Act (HIRE).

Check the IRS FAQ Page here to find out if you have retained employees.

The credit is 6.2% of the total wages over the 52 week period up to a maximum credit per employee of $1000.

Yahoo! Retires Maps API… Temps Plus welcomes Google!

Do you often need to print directions for employees to get to their job?

You can do that right from your Customer or Job Order Screen with built in Google map support!

To make sure this feature is installed correctly you will need to take the following two simple steps.
First run software updates!
Then you will have to run the following query to remove your old Yahoo! settings…

Delete * From ProcessOptions Where Process = “MAPS”

And thats it! Next time you click on that little “M” button next to the address, you will be taken directly to Google maps and you can print off directions right from there!

“Reach Out” with Call-Em-All

Well… Here’s the next video in the series (only my second so bear with me). I am still working on effects and quality but the videos will get better! This just touches on one way to utilize Call-Em-All directly from Temps Plus. I did not cover the Broadcast manager which allows you to monitor “Survey Response” from your applicants and directly place all those that responded they are interested in the job opening. I also failed to mention that all activity is recorded and stored in history for tracking purposes and unemployment claims.

Yes… it is that easy!

One thing we learned from our Users Meeting…

Is that most Temps Plus users don’t know what they really have! We understand that with the hustle and bustle of the daily operations in the staffing industry it is difficult to stay on top of software updates and ever-changing technology, so we are going to help you.  One of the things we learned at the Temps Plus Users meeting at Staffing World 2011 was that we need to help you stay informed to changes in your staffing software! This is the first video of many more tutorials to come!

Many of you running version 4.1 probably don’t even know that almost four months ago you received an update that allows you to setup “Drop Down” boxes for almost any field within Temps Plus that you want. This video covers the basics of what you need to do in order to start using this feature. There will be another video posted for more “Advanced” users that will cover implementing the “Drop Down” feature on all of your user defined custom screens.

Optimize your Temps Plus!

Not sure if your software is up to date? Call us! It’s covered in your maintenance with Bridgeware Systems, so there is no reason to not be running the latest version and we will help you get there!

To find out for yourself … log in to Temps Plus and go to “Help” then “About”. If you’re running TPJKM version 4 and it is not at 4.0.272 then you should do software updates. If you’re running version 4.1 and its not yet at 4.1.34… Guess what? You should do software updates!

What is the difference between Temps Plus version 4.0 and 4.1?

Basically… version 4.1 is setting you up for success to optimize the “tools” that are available in streamlining your staffing business. Some of these tools included in the setup are the Automated Messaging Service fully integrated with Call-Em-All, and the Department of Homeland Security “E-Verify” Program. These features are currently being used by Bridgeware Clients across the country already. Also version 4.1 has the capability to assign customers and employees’ logins through your website and print off past pay stubs, invoice history etc. Currently in final Beta testing, will be the launch of mobile applications on your Droid or IPhone and tablet devices.
